Symptom patterns

See what repeats in your logs.

An Ova symptom pattern describes a symptom you recorded in a similar part of more than one tracked cycle. It helps you look back at your own entries; it does not explain the medical cause of a symptom.

What does Ova compare?

The current pattern feature checks supported entries from the Symptoms category. It looks for a symptom recorded in the same estimated cycle phase across at least two tracked cycles. Logging the same symptom several times within only one cycle does not establish a recurring pattern across cycles.

Moods, flow, activities and other daily categories can remain useful records without being included in this symptom-pattern calculation. The exclusive “Everything is fine” choice does not become a recurring symptom card.

How do I read the pattern view?

  • Each row represents a tracked cycle; the date identifies its start.
  • The day positions run from the beginning of that cycle.
  • A symptom icon marks where that symptom was logged.
  • Period, fertile-window and ovulation colors provide cycle context. Fertile and ovulation context is estimated.
  • The dotted pattern outline highlights the cycle phase where relevant logs repeat. It does not mean the symptom was logged on every day inside the outline.

The count tells you how many analyzed tracked cycles contained the matching symptom logs. An unlogged day is missing information, not proof that you had no symptom.

Does the current cycle count?

The tracked-cycle symptom comparison can include your current cycle when relevant logs are present. Completed-cycle length comparisons use completed cycles. These are different calculations, so their counts need not match.

The Personal insights history-ready state requires at least two completed cycles. That requirement is separate from the repeated-log rule used to identify a symptom pattern.

Why might no symptom pattern appear?

There may not be enough relevant history, the entries may be from one cycle only, or the symptom may not repeat in the same phase. Entries from a different category will not create a Symptoms-category pattern. Adding more records does not guarantee that Ova will find a pattern.

Review the dates and categories of the logs you intended to compare. Continue recording what you actually experience; you do not need to manufacture a pattern.

Is a pattern a diagnosis or a prediction?

No. It summarizes recorded observations. It does not diagnose a condition or promise that the symptom will happen again. Ova does not provide medical advice. Discuss health concerns with a qualified healthcare professional.

You can include recorded information in an Ova health report. For help with missing or incorrect app entries, contact support using technical details rather than intimate health records.
